Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community is searching for an accomplished Vice President of Finance (Chief Financial Officer) to join our thriving organization in West Columbia, South Carolina. We are an existing, rated, Senior Living Life Plan Community who is driving to develop our footprint further at other locations in South Carolina. This position will be a key member of the Executive Team and will have the ability to head the organizations financials as it relates to individual and future multi-site outlays, payables, and budgets, plus more. Still Hopes is governed by a Board of Directors and employs over 675 staff. We have extensive experience with the day-to-day operations of Independent Living, Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care, Home Care, and Medicare Rehabilitation. The vision of Still Hopes is: To provide a new expectation for Senior Living. We believe our residents and clients deserve the absolute best care. This key position will manage and direct the organizations financial affairs to effectively grow the fiscal strength of the community, under the direction of the President and CEO. This position is also responsible for the leadership and management of the Accounting, IT, and Human Resources Department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily leadership and management of the organization, ensuring operations and core values are adapted
  • Implementation of financial operations and systems, to drive the company to achieve and surpass business goals and objectives
  • Responsible for generating reports based on the company’s statistics to properly reflect the effectiveness of all processes
  • Develop, implement, and clearly communicate effective growth strategies
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team and the Board of Directors regarding all updates and/or changes to operational infrastructure of financial systems, processes, and personnel
  • Represent the company as a key Point of Contact for clients, investors, and business partners

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field- required
  • Master’s degree in business, finance, or related field- preferred
  • CPA highly preferred
  • At least five years in a senior management role; required
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous experience overseeing multi-disciplinary roles
  • Proven record of excelling in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning
  • Possess integrity, credibility, and commitment to upholding the organizations Core Values and Code of Conduct
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and guide investments in people and systems
  • Preliminary budget preparation for the community
  • Monitoring of cash position for the community
  • Open new bank accounts for buildings in development (petty cash, main checking, payroll, etc.)
  • Oversee the reconciliation of general ledgers
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly journal entries
  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls, and checks across the organization
  • Manage the productivity for the entire accounting department
  • Oversee accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, credits and collections, payroll, general & entity accounting through effective management of the Accounting Director
  • Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals
  • Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies
  • Provide a visionary and leadership role
