The “buttons” above provide access to an array of activities here at Still Hopes. In addition to all that you find there, scroll down to read about our “Terrific Thursday” series and our very popular “Annual Events.”
Terrific Thursdays
The "Terrific Thursday" series is an ongoing schedule of great programs of interest ranging from lectures, historic monologues, concerts, displays, or various other types of presentations to inform, entertain, and enlighten. Presenters are both from within Still Hopes and from the local community. Residents assist the Activity Services department with information on great programs and many actually present the programs. Always open to the public, Terrific Thursday programs are given on Thursdays at 3 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. and are usually held in the Susan G. Robinson Garden Room.
Annual Events Still Hopes
Valentine Ball ~ Sweets for the Sweet
An evening sponsored by the ladies of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral where we enjoy delightful desserts, coffee, bar service, and listening and dancing to great live band music.
4th of July Outdoor Concert
The Columbia Summer Band stirs our hearts with rousing patriotic music on the beautiful grounds outside the Bistro overlooking Polly’s Pond. Peach ice cream is always a treat at this event!
Island Getaway
September is the month for a theme event. Luaus have been the absolute greatest fun here at Still Hopes for many years. In 2009 Caribbean Night came on the scene, complete with steel drum music. Chef Jimmie’s creativity shines at these events. You will not want to miss visiting the islands at the Still Hopes annual Island Getaway. Save those outfits you bought on vacation. You will want to dress tropical!
Annual Christmas Party
Chef Jimmie delights everyone with his array of foods at this event. You won’t need to eat supper before you come. Bar service is available, along with the Dick Goodwin Band music for your listening and dancing enjoyment.
Annual Rummage Sale
Get rid of those unwanted items by donating them to the annual rummage sale. At the same time you just might pick up a treasure! All proceeds from this event go to the Resident Assistance Fund. Volunteers are always needed to help with this sale.
