Bridge
Bridge groups abound at Still Hopes. Informal groups get together in each other’s apartment or reserve one of the many card rooms on campus. The last Friday of each month, an open bridge day is held with players signing up to play. They stop for lunch in the Bistro and return for the afternoon. Many residents invite bridge partners living outside the campus to come here to play. Just reserve a room, call the Still Hopes caterer to set up lunch, and play all day.
Other card games currently running are:
Canasta ~ Tuesdays mornings at 10 a.m.
Shanghai ~ Friday afternoons at 2 p.m.
Wii
The Wii Games are a super way to get active and enjoy a sport that you may not have played in some time or maybe it will be something new. Either way, it’s fun and a good way to exercise your mind and body in a less strenuous way. Bowling tournaments happen at Still Hopes many times a year on the Wii. Other games available are tennis, golf, boxing, and more. Your grandchildren will love playing with you on the Wii!
Game Nights are especially fun in the Club Room. The activity staff facilitates such games as the TV game shows you enjoy.
Outdoor games enjoyed at Still Hopes are Bocce Ball, horseshoes, putting green, and croquet.
Book Club
The Still Hopes Book Club meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. in the Susan G. Robinson Garden Room.
The meetings do not require registration or commitment other than to come and enjoy.
Guest speakers, many of whom are Still Hopes residents and authors themselves, give reviews on a book they have recently written or read. Authors may have books for sale at some meetings.
