Ripples
A gentle aquatic class incorporating slow leg and arm range-of-motion exercises. Benefits include increased upper and lower body strength, improved posture and balance, and general limbering. This class improves joint health, relieves aching muscles and joints, increases circulation, reduces stiffness, and relieves stress.
Waves
This water aerobics class uses continuous motion for cardiovascular conditioning and muscular endurance. Balance, flexibility, and strengthening exercises make this a complete workout that is ideal for protecting lower limb joints.
Strong Currents
This class is a combination of specialized strength and flexibility training for areas prone to injury and pain such as shoulders, hips, spine, and knees. Postural alignment and balance are emphasized. This class is taught by a licensed physical therapist. You do not need physician orders to take this class. Participation in this class is with the Director’s approval only. Pre-registration and fee are required.
Ship Shape I & II (Note: I & II are the same class being offered at two different times)
A fun, fast-paced class incorporating aerobic fitness, muscular strength, joint flexibility, and postural alignment. Spinal stabilization, balance, and core (abdominal strength) are emphasized while minimizing impact on lower extremeties.
Rubber-soled aquatic shoes are highly recommended for all classes, not only for your safety, but also for proper form and technique.
Water exercise can be performed without swimming. Our pool is shallow with side rails for support. You need not get your head wet.
Don’t forget your towel!
Residents: Don’t forget your prox card or you won’t get in the downstairs entry, pool or locker rooms!
